We make a daisy ointment!

Daisies belong to the large family of composite plants and have been used as a remedy for centuries.
Daisies are used for skin diseases, headaches and dizziness, and are also very effective against coughs thanks to the saponins they contain.

List of ingredients:

  • 100 ml daisy oill
  • 5 g beeswax
  • 10 g lanolin
  • optional: a few drops of essential oil

Tip: If you often make ointments, it is worth buying a glass stirring rod.
These are just as heat-resistant as wooden sticks, but less susceptible to germs.

And this is how it works:

  1. Carefully measure out all the ingredients.
  2. Place the daisy oil, beeswax and lanolin in a fireproof jar and heat carefully in a bain-marie over a medium heat.
  3. When the wax has almost melted, stir with the chopstick.
  4. Leave a few drops to cool on a plate and check the consistency. If the ointment is not yet firm enough,
add a little more wax. If it is too solid, add a little oil and then test again, adding a few drops of essential oil if necessary.
  5. Pour the mixture into the disinfected ointment jars and leave to cool.
  6. Label the jars with the date and the oil used.
The daisy ointment will keep for several months if stored in a cool, dark place.

Finally, a recipe for a daisy cough syrup:

Daisy COUGH SYRUP:

  • 50 g daisy flowers and leaves
  • 500 ml water
  • 500 g cane sugar

Pour boiling water over the daisies and leave overnight (10-12 hours) and strain the next morning.
Then pour the infusion into a saucepan, add the cane sugar and heat slowly, stirring constantly,
until a syrupy mass has formed. If required, take 1-2 teaspoons daily.

We wish you every success!
